Stalling or Skipping Burned DVD+R 4XMedia on DVD Rom playback

I have burned Kypermedia DVD+R's with IO Magic DVDRW IDE 1008 (4X)speed and played them on my Tevion DVD Player with no problem..but when I burn Memorex DVD+R's whether its the 4X or 8X media I get stalls or skips on playback. I am using Nero 6 Ultra edition and DVD Shrink 3.2 to encode and burn..thanks

Hi,

From what i have read in the past Nero, although a good burning engine for CD-R burning is not so good for DVDR burning. I myself use a freeware program called DVD Decrypter it came highly recommended and i have had 100% good results. The skipping durring the playback of your dvd's may be caused by other things than your DVD burning software - different DVD players seem to play different DVDR brands better than others and the same goes with the burner, one burner may record on type of dye and not as well on another. Finally although i use the top speed i can to burn - some people feel they can get better results by lowering the burn speed maybe that is something else you could try, myself i would try the following:-

- use blank dvdr with the ritek g04 dye (i find this best)
- burn using DVD Decrypter
- burn on a slow speed (mainly X2)

Hope this helps

Herb

PS - you need to use a free app called img classic to convert a VIDEO_TS folder into a .ISO file to be able to burn with DVD decrypter - if you need any more help or need any of the above free apps give me a shout :)
