Re: Adding Monitor
Hi, welcome to TSF
You need a graphics card with 2 outputs or a second graphics card.

Re: Adding Monitor
Yes, you can use a combination of PCI or AGP graphics card and onboard for dual monitors. The onboard will use a portion of your system memory, so if you're already low on RAM, 2 monitors might slow down your computer slightly.

Re: Adding Monitor
Try to put the second monitor on the vga port on back of your computer, and see whether the dual monitor can work, as koala mentioned before
![]() You might need to change some display settings, to extend the monitor to the second display. In any case, try to plug monitor first ![]()

Re: Adding Monitor
Have tried plugging in second monitor to VGA port & changing the Settings, but no luck. May have to change existing Graphics Card (ATI Radeon 7500) to dual outlet Card. Any recommendations as to Card? Thanks.

Re: Adding Monitor
Which motherboard slot will you be using for the card? PCI, AGP or PCIE? Will you be using the computer for the latest games? Is your PSU strong enough to handle another card? What's your price limit?

Re: Adding Monitor
I have a similar problem with a Dell GX260 trying to connect a second monitor. I bought a NVIDA m64 32mb AGP card. When I installed it and rebooted, the new card works but the onboard video does not. I take out the NVIDA and the onboard works. thanks

Re: Adding Monitor
Hi mjbodurtha!
In some cases, the on-board graphic card will be disabled when you installed the external graphic card. Seems like in your case, the on-board graphic is disabled when you installed the graphic card. You have to use the graphic card which supports the dual-monitor (graphic card with two ports) ![]()
