Usb Mouse Bios Problem?

I have Kensington usb mini-mice for both my laptop and pc...have had NO problems at all until recently at the end of a Netflix download on both units. When a program ends and the Netflix reset/browse page comes up my mouse can't function - it is more or less frozen out...
on the laptop a page came up that dominated my screen for days - "ACTIVE DESKTOP RECOVERY" and I finally bypassed this by using the keyboard to get to sys. recovery and going back in time but that didn't change the glitchy mouse problem...also this problem locks me out of control panel device management options
on the pc the same kind of mouse lockout just happened yesterday after days of normal downloads with Netflix - I called their tech dept. and the guy suggested a 'mouse bios' problem...so I dragged the old icky institutional ps2 mouse out of mothballs and it worked, which is why I am able to communicate with you. I don't know how to negotiate the path to get to a usb/mouse bios page and make the changes necessary or download new bios or whatever needs to be done. Can you help?

Re: Usb Mouse Bios Problem?

did you try the mouse on another computer? If not, give it a try if another computer is available. This will help determine if its a mouse problem or other.
