Evil Keyboard Freezes on Toshiba Satellite A75-S229

Every once and a while the keyboard, touchpad & mouse freeze. I must power down and reboot to regain control. The freezing is not accompanied by any other symptom (e.g., excesive heat, fan stopping, etc.)

The laptop is 3 years old and still under extended mfgr warranty. I had a previous problem with a black display screen that I fixed by taking the unit into a CDW tech repair center.

Any sugestions on what to do to fix the current freezing problem - or should I simply take the laptop back to a tech repair center?

Thanks, MJD

Re: Keyboard Freezes on Toshiba Satellite A75-S229

how much ram is in the system? what about harddrive size/free space? Also, what laptop? if theres a bios battery, it may need replacing - go into your bios and see if the date and time is correct.

Re: Keyboard Freezes on Toshiba Satellite A75-S229

The Toshiba Satellite A75-S229 is a laptop with a 3.20GHz P4 processor, 448MB RAM, 75GB hard drive and 51GB free space. BIOS is good. Internal date & time are correct. There is no battery issue since the laptop is plugged in to external power.
