Mouse and Keyboard Won't Work
Hello guys,
I am new to the forum and I'm glad to be part of a place where you can talk about computers and not feel like a total geek ![]() Anyways, to my problem. Recently I had a desktop HP A1510, I bought the new Antec 900 Steel Full tower case. I switched everything from the old HP case to my new Antec one. Everything is in place as it should be. I have heard that Windows never survives a transplant, and I found out the hard way. When I boot Windows up I get the infamous <Windows Root>/System 32/Ntoskrnl.exe Windows could not boot due to the following is missing or corrupt. I unplugged everything in my USB ports and unplugged my mouse and left my keyboard in, Windows boots up, before reinstalling Windows I had Media Center, I think service pack 2. I can get into the BIOS by slapping F1 hundreds of times before the keyboard becomes unresponsive, however whenever I boot from the windows CD the keyboard will work, so in all honesty I am thinking it is a motherboard issue, or a Harddrive issue. I bought another one thinking that would be the problem but I havent had a chance to install it and try it. I installed Windows XP Pro, started out good, Windows worked, but my mouse wouldn't move. I shut down my computer to restart it, to see if that was the problem, and the same KRNL error popped up, the only KRNL you never want to meet . I have just stopped messing with it out of frustration. I cant get into the BIOS to see if anything was disabled. I hope someone can help me.Thanks for your time, ~JAy |
