Nec 1810X TFT problem
Hello, I got a prob with my monitor, well my backup monitor to be precise.
I got it a couple of monthes ago, from an relative, since they where upgrading, and I was like sweet free new equipment, mostly since I miss a tft, and a big one aswell, anyway. The problem is that I got these 3 lines in it, that I can make go away with banging it on top, not that I like to do it. And I tried upgrading the drivers for windows, didn't help, have tried it on 2 diffrent computers, and loads of diffrent setups, and yes restarted the screen and all that, but the problem is there all the time, it seems that the lines comes when it has been active for a while, but if it hasen't been used in like a day or two, they are there when I start up, soo I dunno what the problem is, should I send it away, or buy a new since I have no warrenty? The lines ![]() How it looks normaly ![]() Many thanks Kieron |

Re: Nec 1810X TFT problem
Try to degause it, my only suggestion, drivers are not going to cure
this, I doubt. Banging it may not be the answer either. If the monitor has been sitting around awhile collecting dust you may try blowing it out. BE VERY CAREFUL! Take the back off of the monitor, remember even though it is unplugged it still has enough of a charge in it to KILL you! Re Read what I just typed. It can ruin your day. There is a wire that leads to the tube itself and alot of times dust and crap will accumulate around that wire causing it to do wierd things to the monitor. Not saying this will fix it but its worth a shot. If it were me I would buy another one.....I hate getting shocked.

Re: Nec 1810X TFT problem
Well, I did try to degause it (I think anyway) but since it has no own dagause option, I put it next to my CRT (20") and degaused on that instead, but eaither the CRT's degaus is to small or it didn't work at all..
And I have opened the TFT one time, Praying the whole time, since I know I could get shocked preatty hard, but since I noticed that I couldn't see what I was hopping for (collections of dust to blow away) I put it back together again, the prob is, I can't buy a new tft untill april-may sometime, since I am saving for the new computer first, and a screen isn't calculated in those 2k Euro |
