Had the same problem myself.

I followed the instructions from the following page , seemed to sort it out (although this is a solution for a different problem !!)

Good luck

having trouble with Symantec Redirector

I had same problem working with Windows ME. The error message was LU1812 update not applied Symantec redirector. I found the fix on the Symantec web site as Document ID 200407140723813.

The fix is to uninstall the Symantec Redirector. Here is the information from that web site page.

To fix this, you must uninstall the Symantec Redirector and then run LiveUpdate again.

To uninstall the Symantec Redirector

1. Exit all programs.
2. Do one of the following:
* In Windows 98/2000, on the Windows taskbar, click Start > Settings > Control Panel, and then double-click Add/Remove Programs.
* In Windows Me, on the Windows taskbar, click Start > Settings > Control Panel, and then double-click Add/Remove Programs.
If you do not see the Add/Remove Programs icon, first click ...view all Control Panel options.)
* In Windows XP, on the Windows taskbar, click Start > Control Panel, and then double-click Add/Remove Programs.
If you do not see the Add/Remove Programs icon, then in the left pane, click Switch to Classic View.
3. Click Symantec Network Driver Update.
You may need to use the scroll bar to view the entire list.
4. Depending on your version of Windows, click Add/Remove, Change/Remove, or Remove, and follow the prompts.
5. Restart the computer.

Note: Before you run LiveUpdate in the next procedure, you must restart the computer as described in the previous section.

had the same problem went to symantec.com and went to the online tech basicly it told me my Liveupdate needed to be newer so it gave me the option to run a uninstall / install program from the site but it didnt work.

So what I did was uninsall everything that was related to my Norton. Cleared the registery, and looked through the program files etc. and deleted everything I could find with norton. (rebooted like 3 times i think)

downloaded the newest Liveupdate off symantecs website.

Installed Norton, then I installed the liveupdate, then i ran live update and that worked for me.

good luck.
