computer is tripping and so am i?

ok i have a clone system for about a year now which i built it has a biostar mother-board gigabyte7vm400m-rz. this computer was working fine just a few weeks ago then all of a sudden when i put it on it refuse to do a post and display any video on the monitor,i changed the monitor but still no luck i put in a new video card but still no luck (NOTE I was using my on board video all the time) (i am MAD as hell now) anyhow i took out the mem and reinsert them but no change i even took out the cd drives to see it would do anything but NO.by this time i was way pissed to try anymore so i just left it for about a week.then when my passion was cooled i decided to try again, this time when i turned it on it came on without me having to do anything to it.i decided to restart it to see if everything was all right.and AGAIN it refused to display or carry out a post. the system is on,the hard drive is working but no post beep and no video is there anything i can do to solve this all logical advice accepted.

Check that all your fans are working and that you don't have an accumulation of dust, if you do get it to post again check the temps and voltages, check that all cables are secure, it sounds like the psu is dead

Re: Video is tripping and so am i?

thanks for your reply
actually all the fans are working the entire computer is on and all the connections are secure including my memory and all other components.there is not much dust in this pc i have cleaned it out.i am unable to entire the bios.there isn't even a post being carried out so anything that has to do with me using the monitor as a form of fixing it is totally out until i can see some form of display.NOTE since this problem started to occur it only came on once after it came on i decided to restart and since then it refuse to show any display

Re: Video is tripping and so am i?

Most likeley the psu lost the 12V rail, but check the mobo carefully for any swollen or leaking capacitors, and take a look at bench testing the computer (linked below) that way we can isolate what it may be before you start throwing parts at it.
