cd rom problems

hi , i just got a new web cam but i can't install it cause the cd rom won't play the installation cd or any others. help please.

how old is the rom?

yes it is there. about 4 yrs. old. i have just discovered that i have to put the media player on first b4 it will play any cd at all. do u know y it is like this. my friends automatically comes on when she inserts a cd. ty.

go to the rom properties under "my computer" and click auto play.
