USB Mouse + Bios lockup.
I am at my wits end.
The problem I have been experiencing has been when I plug a USB mouse into a usb drive (it doesn't matter which one) when I have to restart my computer, as long as the USB drive is inserted the bios will not load. I have used three different mice over the last six months and two of them are doing this. The first one that does not work is a Logitech MX Revolution and now it's my brand new Razer Copperhead. The only mouse that allowed the bios to load is the Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 8000. The reason I don't just stick with the Microsoft mouse is because of poor proformance. The mouse shudders and shakes and locks up everytime there is any sort of CPU useage. Same with the Logitech mouse. And now I can't use my Copperhead because I cannot plug it in and get it activated after the bios has loaded. As for my computer it is a Gateway Duel Core 4200+ with two gigs of ram. I could use any help any of you could give me, I'm about ready to throw this thing out the window. :D |

Re: USB Mouse + Bios lockup.
welcome
make sure that all usb functions are enabled in your bios make sure the device manager shows no yellow alerts in the manager, click view, then show hidden devices how many mice are listed in there?
