Help With My HP Laptop

Tryiing to load XP on to my HP Pavilion zt1130 and the power keep shuting down doing install is it my power supply going bad.

OS: Windows 95, 98,2000,& XP, Knoppix, Sun, Unix MS Express & Outlook


Make sure you are using the AC adapter and not on battery power. Then go into the desktop settings by right clicking on a bare area of the desktop and select properties. Under the screensaver tab you should see a button for power or it may say advanced. Click on that button and you will see the settings for the laptop. Change the settings in the window that opened where it says "Turn off Monitor" to never, "Turn off Harddrive" to never and "System Standby" to never. Click on Apply and then OK and then try installing the software.

After you are done installing the software you can go back in to the desktop settings and change them back.
