PC crashes when running TMPGEnc Plus 2.5

My OS is Win XP and I have McAfee installed, firewalls up, but when I run TMPGEnc Plus 2.5 to convert .avi to .mpeg somewhere throught the conversion my pc freezes. I have to manually shut down and restart. I have tried uninstalling software and reinstalling, I've tried screensaver on and off, I've tried internet connection on and off. Please help.

I suggest you check into your processor and case cooling. Video conversion is a CPU intensive task, and I suspect that you're overheating during the process. The video card may also be an overheating issue...

I never thought of my pc overheating, especially since I recently installed 120 gig hard drive. I cleaned it all out and am leaving the side panel off during heavy use. Thank you soooooooooooooo much!
