URGENT! Computer won't turn on
Hi! TechSupportForum has helped me multitudes in the past, so I thought you might be able to help with this urgent problem.
My Sony Vaio Notebook has had increasing troubles powering on, and today it just WON'T. Slowly over the last 6 months or so, I've had to push more than once and now push for a minute (in different morse code patterns to see what would work) before it will finally turn on, and it seem to have finally quit. Is there anything I can do about this, now or through repair? This is the 4th major problem with this computer! If it comes to repair, I hope they'll just exchange the darn thing. Thanks, Laura |

Try taking the battery out and using the AC adapter to turn it on. If it still doesn't work, take it in. If it is under warranty, insist on a new one.

This sounds like a problem with the actual power on button. Perhaps the contacts are waring out inside or something. I would just take it back to the side, act dumb and say "This wont turn on, can I have a new one?". They will work out the problem for you and being a laptop, most probably exchange it for you if it is a hardware problem.
