monitor screen resolution
my computer is using 17" monitor with 1024 x 768 resolution. But because there some problem with the monitor so i change to the old 15" monitor. the problem is the old monitor cannot support 1024 x 768 resolution so the monitor screen just does not display anything.
does anyone how to solve this problem? Thank. |

Hit the f8 key when you start your computer and choose vga mode from the menu. When you get into windows, you can set the display size to something that makes the 15" monitor happy.

Does the 17 inch work at all? If so, try to get back into Windows with that and lower the resolution. If not, you may have to try and borrow one that will work so you can lower the resolution.

Try Safe Mode instead.

sorry for late reply.
I am sure that the 17" monitor is in good condition. Like what TheMatt said, i can go to safe mode successful but what can i do after enter to safe mode? |

Uninstall the video driver. Reboot and reinstall it. It will select the proper resolution automatically.

You can try just turning down the resolution, but I'm not sure that will work because you are working off a different display driver in Safe Mode.
