Router Passwords

I am attempting to set up my router, since I have just reformatted the computer, and I have all of the connections properly attached (the router was working with the same setup before) and yet it dose not work. If i connect it directly from the modem the internet works. So i tried to go to 192.168.0.1. to see if it had some setting problem, and then I realized that my parents set a password to it, and they don't remember it. I tried to press the reset button, but it dose not reset the password. Any advice, or should I get a new router?

do a hard reset hold the reset button in for about 20 seconds usually all the lights will flash and then use admin/admin for the logan and you will have to reset the router up again once you get in
