Re: Overclocking
Nowadays you can overclock just about anything, but there are factors to consider. Will it void the warranty on the machine? Does my case have enough cooling? Will the power supply hold up to the extra draw? Will the cooler on the processor be able to dissipate the extra heat? Will the overclock actually give me a noticable performance boost for the shortened life it will offer?
Unless you're going to be able to cool it and power it effectively, you're better off not bothering as you're likely to break something.

Re: Overclocking
The Core Duo processors have been very difficult to overclock for some reason. It has been hard to find a correct clock generator for the 945GM/PM chipset. You can give ClockGen a try: http://www.cpuid.com/clockgen.php
Give an ICS 9541xx clock generator a try, but it might not work. If you are familiar with laptops, you can take it apart and look at the clock generator chip and see what is written on it.

Re: Overclocking
It should be near the northbridge along with a quartz crystal next to it, so if you can locate the northbridge it shouldn't be too difficult to find. The actual chip should say ICS in tall letters on it.
If you can't find it, you should try a couple of different ICS clock generators that are ICS9541xx. Additionally, you will probably have to put a check next to "Ignore GSB/PCI" in PLL Setup so you don't overclock the PCI bus, which usually results in instability.
