Need to scan 2000 photos

So my dad gave me a big tub of photos from the last 20 years and wants them digitalized. My guess is there is between 1000 and 2000 photos to be scanned. All I have now is an old Agfa Snapscan 1212 flatbed scanner. I'm not ruling out this scanner yet but am looking at newer alternatives before I start.

I would like to automate the process as much as possible and aim for quantity over quality. For the special photos I'll go back and touch those at a later time. Is there a photograph scanner for under $200 our there or is this asking too much?

Re: Need to scan 2000 photos

Hi,
Some scanners include an automatic photo feeder (APF) for scanning several photos at once.
Try googling for "scanner automatic photo feeder" and you should receive plenty of results with varying prices.

There's some good scanning tips here....

Re: Need to scan 2000 photos

also look for a scanner software that might scan 2 images at one go .. so feed 2 and get 2 separate scans each time
