Need ATA RAID Promise Help (Intel SR1200 Server)
I bought two Intel SR1200 servers awhile back to replace my aging web server. I finally got the chance tonight to play with them. Both have two ATA drives running on a Promise FastTrak RAID controller. I can setup a mirroring RAID array just fine. The problem is I tried to install Ubuntu Server on the array. It installed just fine but it saw two drives when it asked where the install drive was to be. A reboot gives me the "Boot Failure System Halted" and the "!" light comes on in the front i/o panel. I thought it might be hardware so I tried the same hard drives on my second unit and got the same thing. So what am I doing wrong here?
If anyone find a manual talking about the RAID on this model of server, I'll be shocked. |
