[SOLVED] Comp wont install XP (device error)
I have just been given a semi old computer that used to have XP installed on it, it was running a bit slow, I thought this was just a software issue slowing the comp down and yeah I decided my first business would be reinstall XP, halfway thought installing XP it failed with a device error, another thing to be noted is that during the install screens it was incredibly slow (both between the filling out of information, as well as the whole process taking almost 6 times the install time), and I was just wondering if there was a bootable iso that could run a scan on the computer to find out what piece of hardware is not working.

Re: Comp wont install XP (device error)
Reset the BIOS to default settings.
Run the memtest ISO to test for RAM errors, one stick at a time for at least 10 passes each. Download the hard drive diagnostics program from the manufacturer's website. Please post your full system specs.
