New Costume Computer Components
Hey,
I'm planning to build a new gaming computer and have decided on which parts to use - GIGABYTE GA-M55SLI-S4 Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3320620AS (Perpendicular Recording Technology) 320GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive LITE-ON 20X DVD±R DVD Burner With 12X DVD-RAM Write Black SATA Model LH-20A1S SAPPHIRE 100199L Radeon X1950GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Video Card Patriot eXtreme Performance 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model PDC22G6400LLK AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ Windsor 2.6GHz Socket AM2 Processor Model ADA5200CSBOX - Retail I'm going to use those with this case and power supply - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811105113 Now, I have two question. 1. Do I have all the necessary components for an above average gaming computer, or is there anything else I need, like a sound card. 2. Is the power supply powerful enough, or should I pay the extra 64$ for a combination of these - (134$) COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 CAC-T05-UW Black Aluminum Bezel, SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail COOLER MASTER eXtreme Power RP-650-PCAR ATX from factor 12V V2.01 650W Power Supply - Retail Thank you very much for your time! Re: New Costume Computer Components
I've found this one as well. It costs 30$ more and has a 500W PSU. It also looks somewhat better and more useable.

Re: New Costume Computer Components
it's good policy to buy the case and power supply as seperate items this you listed looks the way to go
COOLER MASTER eXtreme Power RP-650-PCAR ATX from factor 12V V2.01 650W Power Supply - Retail

Re: New Costume Computer Components
That's a massive rig. Looking to get a X1950 myself but for that you want a minimum of 600w PSU. The case is really nice but like I said, you WILL need a PSU with minimum 600w. AS for components I'm pretty sure you don't need a SC but it's good to have sometimes depending if you're a sound nut. I Love my Xfi with EAX and crystalizer and all the added crap but for just plain sound onboard will do it.

Re: New Costume Computer Components
Oh and plus it'd be better to get the X1950 as a 512mb rather than a 256. it costs relatively the same aswell.

I might get this one for DX10 but it's more expensive and more money for performance.
