multimedia keyboard problem

just recently bought a cheap, but new microsoft multimedia keyboard,wireless 1.1...all the multimedia buttons work except for the volume control, but when i press mute the volume comes up, but the plus and minus doesnt work. ...ive already tried updating the driver and things like that...nothing has helped...Id appreciate any help if someone is familiar with this problem

Sounds like a bad keyboard. Can you return it?

i could, but id rather not especially if theres a way to fix it which im sure there should be...
