Mouse Cursor still "sticking" Cleared of malware via HJT forum.
The following post is the original text from my first post in this forum. I have been through the malware removal process thanks to tetonbob in the HJT forum. Together we determined that the issue is not related to malware.
Original Post: "I have a problem with my mouse. It happens often enough to be an annoyance, especially while gaming. I use a microsoft USB wireless, but I have tried swapping it with a wired serial mouse, and a USB wired mouse all with the same problem. The problem is at random times the mouse cursor will stop moving and I get no response from either the buttons, or moving the mouse. The mouse will not respond until I press a button on the keyboard. Once I press a button, any button, on the KB the mouse goes back to working just fine until it sticks again. this can happen a hundred times an hour depending on usage. it happens whether I have applications open and running or not. I have tried updating the USB and mouse drivers with no effect. can anyone give me a clue as to how I can fix this annoying problem?" The only conclusion I can reach is that it is probably hardware related. I will cease troubleshooting this problem until I receive a response from your team so that niether of us will be wasting our time. Thanks for all of your help. |

You said you updated the mouse drivers but did you remove the old mouse drivers before installing the new one? If no I would remove the drivers then reinstall the latest.
What kind of keyboard do you have, usb, wireless? Try removing and reinstalling the drivers for this also. Can you try a ps2 keyboard and mouse? |

Follow Doby's suggestions
Out of curiosity, did you overclock your rig? Is your device manager clean? No yellow alerts?
