Laptop Monitor Compatability Question?
Are laptop monitors fairly standard? Or will only specific models fit into specific laptops? If so how can I find out a list of the specific monitor models that will fit into my laptop?
I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 that needs a new monitor. The factor monitor was a Samsung LTN154P1-L04 15.4 widescreen monitor? Can I get basically any 15.4" laptop monitor and have it fit into the case? For a specific case would a Samsung LTN154X1-L03w 15.4" widescreen monitor fit into my Inspiron 6000? Thanks, Britt |

Re: Laptop Monitor Compatability Question?
This is a tuff one because in my opinion I would get the same model number as the old one.
I used to repair older Inspiron 1100, 1150, 5100, 5150, and 5160 models. All used the same case, but had different options. They had 14.1" or 15" screens and they had choice of video cards such as ATI, nVidia, etc. with choice of video memory sizes, 16M, 32M, 64M, etc. If the computer had a 15" screen, there was 3 different model screens and if you had to replace it, you had to make sure you got the correct model or it would not work. The same went with the video card. If you upgraded the video card, you had to make sure the screen was compatible with that card. What I am trying to tell you is that if you buy this screen, make sure you can return it if it does not work. |
