ps/2 port stopped working after ram upgrade? Show me how to do right now!!

HI! Matt from Sweden, I hope youŽll understand me, IŽm from the land of the icebears (no that was a joke;) some people think there are ice bears on the streets here)

OK, I have a fairly old reserve computer, Its been working fine, absolutley perfect despite its age (1300 mhz, 384 mb SDRAM). I thought i should upgrade this computer, and use it primarily for the Internet. So i ran down to my local computershop and bought some ram, actually 256 mb of SDRAM. So now i have 512 mb of ram and it works perfectly, the computer recognises the memory it runs faster and all.....but hereŽs the thing...my mice has been connected to the ps/2 port cause i donŽt have any free USB slots and those usb slots that are taken must be there...It worked perfectly before this ram upgrade when i had 384 mb of SDRAM. The ram upgrade ran smoothly but both com ports are now gone, not responding, not the keyboard port or the mouse port...weird....well, its not the mice, it works perfect, I have tested it on another computer, i just want the ps/2 ports to work again so i can plug my mice in there. This mice is usb, but use some sort of a plug in the front end so it becomes a ps/2 mouse, and as iŽve said the computer worked perfectly beofre thr am upgrade, it must be some sort of a conflict....solve this and would be extremely happy and probably buy you a christmas present next year;)

My System

I can't imagine the ram having anything to do with the ps2 ports not responding so yes that is weird. Remove a usb device temporarily and plug the usb mouse into it, if it then works enter device manager and see if there are any red or yellow marks next to the keyboard and mouse.

In device manager remove both devices and shutdown the computer, reconnect the mouse like it was originally and reboot. This will make windows reload the drivers for both devices.

Hope that helps it all I can think of
