EEK! Burning on DVD+R

Ok I got a DELL with a DVD burner and well I have never known much about writers and am wanting to know why I can't burn onto DVD+r's When ever I open a "writable CD folder" and drag files into it the computer gives me a very weak warning just that it cannot be done. When I do it in roxio it says I need decoders but I honestly don't know what I am looking for if anyone can please help me out with this that'd be great.(I Bought a pack of 100 :P)

Not knowing the exact model of your dvd burner it is a hard call.
I do know that it is possible that your dvd burner does not support DVD+R's.
there are dvd burners that only support "+" or "-" and others that support both "+" and "-"
I could be a case of not supporting "+", does it burn "-" OK ?

You might need some different brand media.

Yes I agree, see if you can purchase a single "+" and "-" of a good brand like sony or TDK and see how you go with them

Back to basics -- Windows XP cannot write to DVD media with it's built-in burning feature -- it's strictly for CDs only. Surprised no-one else thought to mention it just to get that part of your problem out of the way.

It looks as if the OP is using Roxio, and it says it needs a codec or something, or maybe an encoder.

I don't understand why you need codecs to burn files - unless you are trying to convert them.
