Using a Camera for security

I've been looking, and thought maybe someone else had seen something like what I'm looking for.

What I want is a Digital Camera hooked to my comp that will activate when someone walks in the room. Also once it activates I want it to save the video to a remote server, and I want to be able to view the camera via a web browser.

I don't know if I can do the motion detection with just any camera or if I need something special?

The whole idea is home security. I would love to get an email (text message via cell phone would be awesome but I don't know if that's possible) when the camera is activated so I can hop onto a browser and see who's in my room.

Any idea's?

After looking at all those, I think I need to keep looking. All those camera's have bad reviews and most say they have a very short motion detection range.

They were just the first few I found by googling "xp security camera email". Good idea to check out the reviews... something I should have done.

a lot depends on the software you use with them
the old asus card i had,had security software with it from memory it was a v9520 which had the video software security suite and you could plug the camera in the back
you set the area on screen and when someone walked into that area it started recording
