Computer stalls at initial boot

undefined
I'll try to make this as short as possible........
1. My daughter's computer started stalling at initial boot up before Windows starts and could not determine any problems. After several hours in this mode it finally boots up.
2. Brought her computer to my house and it works fine...no problems
3. Took her computer AND my computer to her house and both computers stall at boot up.

Very strange........both work in one location but not another.

Any suggestions......

presuming you are only connecting to AC power and have no phone/DSL/cable connections, I would try another outlet. It sounds possible you have unstable power supply/no ground etc. Also try running off a UPS (battery backup) as it will beep if the pwr is unstable. Don't assume all house wiring is OK just cause a lamp works. Let me know what you discover.
