replacing cooling fan in Tecra 8100
Hi, everyone.
I am trying to repalce cooling fan in my good old Tecra 8100. I have the right fan. The problem is that I can't get the bottom cover off of my notebook. I get all the visible screws out; all from under the battery, CD-ROM, etc. But it fells like there is something else holding it in the very middle of the cover. Have any idea what that can be? And yeah I am changing the fan because it started to make this annoying sound, I am thinking that bearings are going out, its loud. Thanx for your help. |

To open many (most?) laptops, one of the first steps is to remove the keyboard, that frequently exposes other screws that are holding it together. You should also remove ALL of the removable stuff like batteries, drives, etc. that slide out. FYI, there are screws that shouldn't be removed on many laptops, and sometimes hidden nuts fall out in very bad places!
