Bad, BAD Ethernet

Hi, I sent my laptop away for repairs and when it came back the ethernet plug was a little stiffer to get into the port than usual. Anyways the day it came back it was absolutely fine. The next day it starts working ok and suddenly the screen goes blank. If you position it under a light you can still make out the display, but it appears as if no light is coming through the screen itself. This only happens if the rj45 cable is plugged in. After a little while it just goes blank. Sorry for the lack of details, don't know which you'd need, but theoretically, what steps can i take to stop this? The display driver is the most recent, the network adapter is a standard Realtek 10/100.

Any thoughts appreciated

Thanks.

sounds as tho when they put the Laptop back together, the Ethernet port is touching/not touching something else on the board - e.g. Graphics-Monitor ribbon.

I would get intouch with the manufacturers of your laptop. Or try reinstalling the Realtek drivers.

Cheers
George
