Hi, please stick with me here.
I (in work as a Telecomms engineer) HAD a Toshiba Sat pro 4280. This was originally W98, but had been changed to XP ( Full, not upgrade ). It's always had a problem with power that I can remeber. If the battery is fully cahrged, and no mains on as it drains down it goes into hibernation way too soon, sometimes when the battery is as 'full' as 60%. The settings in control panel are set to warn at 10%, and hibernate at 5%. Whats intriguing is that I have acquired now a Toshiba Sat Pro 4360 (looks identical, slightly higher spec) and it does the same thing. It even does it after the original restore disk (to W98) is fitted. Once they go into hibernation I put the AC on and start up, and the battery is shown as maybe 3%. Any ideas or should I throw them out and make the Gaffer buy me a good new one?? Thanks in advance. |
