DVD-ROM Drive acting weird..
Hi all,
I have a Dell 9150 computer, and i recently bought the game BattleField 2142. Game plays fine and all of that, runs liek a dream. But, i noticed, pretty much after logging in about an hour and a half straight of this game...the button to eject my disc drive wont do a thing unless i restart my computer after playing! I have to go into windows explorer, D drive then hit eject from there. Once its open, i can hit the button and it will close fine. Anyone know why this happens or how to fix it? i think the drive is a TSST Corp TS-H352C, but i could be wrong, im going by the properties menu for the D drive and thats the one with the DVD/RW name in it. The other drive open and closes fine, by the way. |

Are you running the game from this DVD-ROM? It may be that something is still running in the background after you exit and preventing the DVD-ROM from opening. Check the Battlefield 2142 website to see if have any patches.

yeah, its totally patched up...and im thinking that it may be a backround task, because BF2142 is the only game that does it.
Yes im running the game from this DVD-Rom, and its the only DVD-Rom game i have, all the others are PC-CD. |

It certainly does sound like a background task to me also. Try taking a look at all your task prior to starting the game. Then after you are done playing and it closed out take another look and see if there is any extra ones in there. Let us know what you find out.

there is a safety lock in your burning software to lock the drive until the burning is complete
i don't know if this could cause it with the game untick the box and see if it is still the same with the game
