Problem with Mouse

I had an old mechanical mouse and it finally died on me

So I purchased a new laser mouse, but since I've installed the new mouse my cursor has been acting up. The cursor will move erractically when I scroll around. And when it highlights something it will just shoot across the screen fighting the direction I'm moving it.

Can someone help

uninstall the sofftware that came with it and see what it is like on the default software that comes with windows
if it is the same take the mouse back and change it
