Dell 15" LCD

Have Dell LCD Model E152FPc 15" monitor.will not display.can hold power button down and it will display correctly,but goes dark when button released.
does this model have the backlight that can go bad.I opened it up but did not see a bulb anywhere.

when it goes dim can you see anything dimly in the background,if not the button may need replacing,if you can then the backlight probably is gone

thanks for the reply.i can see display very dim,so it must be the backlight,QUESTION==do the monitors made today still have a backlight?
