Help With Tv Tuner

Hey Guys!

I am getting my uncle a better tv tuner for christmas
the one he has currently is ok but he he wants to free up
the pci slot in his machine for a sound card
so I want to get him an external usb 2.0 or a firewire
capable device , i have looked around but i am not in the
least familiar with these things
i talked to him about it and he is aware that im getting him one
, i figured that way he could tell me what outputs and inputs
he desired in the card , he wants on that has progressive scan and
composite video , the more features the better i guess ,
i have around 180 to 200 to spend on it ,

the searching i did do was on newegg really didnt seem like there was a whole
lot there , although does seem as thought the internals are more popular
im assuming cause there better?

even if tht is indeed the case hes dead set on external

also his OS is xp media edition ,

so if some1 could give me some input , or some ideas on some good ones
please help for my searches have gotten me nowhere

thanks guys!!!-----------------------

Have you looked at Win-TV. Also you may think about getting him a slingbox. It hooks into any TV or receiver and broadcast your TV to any computer with a broadband connection. I know it is not what you said but I think it is worth looking into.

Tiger Direct seems to have a better selection. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...s=usb+tv+tuner
