Monitor Problems
I recently had my hard-drive and cdrom drive replaced and reformatted, everything works except my monitor, which worked before, it's just some standard plug and play monitor, and idea how to get it working?

I'm assuming you already checked to make sure all connections are tight. Have you unplugged it from the power source, and plugged it back in? Does the monitor respond at all, or is not even getting a signal? For a quick check you could try plugging in another computer, to make sure something didn't happen to the monitor. If it doesn't work on another working computer, then the monitor is bad. If it does, then you are likely having an issue with your graphics card, or your onboard graphics.

If it doesn't work on other computers its probably a problem with the monitor. Have you tried different VGA or DVI cables?

A clarification- if the above is true it has to be something else Monitor doesn’t work on other cpus- monitor is bad Other monitors don’t work on the cpu- has to be graphics card Since both of the above can’t be true, unless the other cpu and monitor are also bad, the only possible common components are the vga cable or the power cable |
