Help with Tevion VS-LTV7131 TV Card
Hey,
I have a Tevion TV Card which was working fine up till now. I have a cable running from the rooftop antenna, so the picture is usually very clear. However, to do some minor hardware changed I had to unplug the antenna cable for a while, and now I've plugged it back in the reception is quite poor with a lot of static. Any ideas on what could be causing this? |

i assume its a regular antenna cable and this is caused due to the core of the cable at the end where it plugs in being able to move.
go to the back and unscrew or unplug the cable then put it back in and make sure the core (usually a 2 mm think copper wire) has contact all around and doesnt wiggle. i had the same issue with my ati card

Both ends of the antenna wire fit tight... I couldn't find a copper wire, but everything seems to be securely connected.
edit: something else I've noticed... when I change the channel, for one split second the image is good before it loads onto the unclear snowy version. I recently installed a new video card (256mb RADEON 9600 Pro), could that be causing some issues? Last edited by Mandragora; 10-12-2006 at 09:27 AM. |

I checked the cable on the TV, and the TV display is fine. So the actual cable isn't at fault.
And now... there's no picture at all, it's gone black. And the channel scan shows nothing. Any ideas... This is driving me nuts. Thanks for your time anyway

the video card shouldnt be causing the problems. it might also be an issue how you are getting the signal . i assume its regular analog tv wich sometimes comes out fuzzy.
id say uninstall and reinstall the software and drivers and give it a shot then. in my case it was just the cables and the cable splitter not sending good signal wich caused the static or fuzzyness.

I dunno why it'd suddenly be showing fuzzy signals though... it was working fine for a while. Is this dependant on the video card too? I installed a new 9600 pro... which isn't working all that great either! *Grins* Looks like my computer doesn't like upgrading much.
I uninstalled and reinstalled everything, no luck. Now it's just showing a black, no sound or image. Very strange.

whers the tv input coming from ? im reading bout ur 9600 issues and posted back to you with some more info on that.
the 9600 doesnt or should effect the tv card issues. with the tv card check your settings and make sure you didnt switch any formats like ntsc and pal and also the input where its coming from if its antenna satelite cable etc.

I have an antenna on the roof. There's a socked on the wall, and an antenna cable leading from the socket to my TV card.
The settings are the same as ever, and yeah it's on the antenna setting. Everything seems to be in order, I have no idea why it isn't... |

rescan the channels and see if thatl pick anything up. maybe reseat the card in the socket. also unscrew the cable and screw it back in just for general check. otherwise im out of ideas besides reinstalling the software. my ati cards gave me alot of trouble if u installed them wrong.
