Print screen is used if you want to take a picture of the screen you are viewing, sometimes called screen shot, lets just say you are on your desktop and want to capture this image and post it here. You press print screen and then open a program such as paint then open the program and click on edit then paste.
You now have a picture of what ever was on your screen at the time you pressed print scrn |

Hello blackie, and Welcome to TSF!
The Print Screen Key is very useful if you need to take a "snapshot" of your current screen. Having said that, this is how to do it and see what has been 'printed'..... Whilst you have a clear desktop, showing just your icons and background picture, press the Print Screen key; now Go Start > All Programs > Accessories > Paint > Edit > Paste...Hey Presto! there's the 'snapshot' of your desktop. This key can be used for any currently open window...If you want to 'save' the image that you have now got in 'Paint', Click on File > Save As; name it with a title that you will recognise; save it to a location that you will remember, and click on the blue arrow and save it as a .jpg image, otherwise it will by default be saved as a .bmp image which is much larger, and harder to email or send to friends. Now for your query about the Pause Break key. This key does what it says, in that it will insert a pause, or pause a game etc.; however, the functions of this key have changed over time; this link explains its uses today. I hope that these explanations answer your queries.
