HI Bartender

I haven't been here for while, you was helping me with my switch, that wouldn't work, well the computer finely died. I took it to the people that had put it together and he said the power just gave up, and the mother board was to old to fix it, so I gave it to my Husband to mess with and he bought me a new computer, I am glad now because this computer has more hard drive and Ram. The only thing I wished I could get a lot of stuff off of the hard drive, (we have it), I had a almost new burner too so will save it for later.
So it took me awhile to find this forum again since I lost all my favorites. I had bought a hand held hard drive to put all that stuff in but the computer quit before I could get it all.
Well any way what I wanted to say was thank you for all your help. never could get into the bios to change it to stay on like you said to do.
Florence:
Going to have to change the stats at the bottom .

Hello Florence,

Glad you found your way back. Chances are, someone might be able to help you get the data off your old drive and on to the new by slaving it to your new computer. You just have to keep posting if that's what you want to do. What operating system is on the old drive? Model number of old drive for starters.

80G HARD DRIVE WESTERN DIGTAL 5400PPM
It allso was windows XP home
Is that what you wanted? I don't want to do any thing to this new computer as long as there is a warranty on it.
thanks maybe later I will try something, but by that time all the information on that hard drive will be out dated,

Florence

Florence:

you could put your old hard drive into a USB external enclosure case and run it externally outside the computer.

Where do you find these external enclosures, and would it hurt my new computer for the warranty?
