eMachine T2885 no video
Here's the stroy, the eMachine failed to start one day, so I checked the power button and using another PC checked the CPU, memory and HDD. Everything checked out ok. I tested the power supply with a power supply tester and all the voltages were ok. I deduced from all this that the mobo was bad. I replaced the mobo with an MSI 661FM2-LSR. Now the PC powers up, but there is no video. The PC sounds normal, as normal as any other PC booting up, except that the CD-ROM keeps going buzz buzz buzz. I tried a known good monitor, still nothing. The only thing the monitor does is blink when the PC is first started. Oh, I also stuck an AGP graphics card in the AGP slot and recieved the same results. Thanks in advance for any help.

With all the parts you have replaced or tested the thing to do here would be to strip the system down to find what else it may be, the first thing would be to take out that cdrom to see if that changes anything. then if no go
Remove all drives and cards except video, the idea here is to get a post, if the machine still will not post remove the motherboard from the computer and lay it on a non conductive service and install only,,,,, cpu with fan&heatsink psu 1 stick ram video card keyboard, mouse, monitor. Touch the 2 pins that the case switch connect to with a screw driver to start the computer, again the idea here is to get a post, if it still won't post and you have replace or confirmed the motherboard, cpu, ram, video card are working then the only thing left is the psu. This is assuming all motherboard to psu connections are connected and motherboard jumpers are correct |
