Quicktime really bothering me.. Please help!
Hi. recently quictime has decided to not play videos when i'm on the internet. When the video i'm viewing loads it doesn't view the video, instead a Quicktime question mark appears.. Also, some images do not appear when i'm surfing the net plust those pesky quicktime question marks pop up just about everywhere.
i tried fixing and changing options in the quicktime but to no avail. For some reason when i use IE it will display some of the quicktime videos but not all of them. Mozilla firefox won't display anything thats quicktime at all. I don't know, this maybe a problem with firefox as well, i really don't know and i need help please!! i reistalled quicktime but no changes occured. anyways please let me know how to fix this if u feel u may know. i'll tell you additional info that you need, thanks... |

Yea, i Reinstalled quiktime and nothing changed. For some reason some videos lets say like on You tube will work, but most everywhere I go using either firefox or IE as a browser ends up giving me that Quicktime question mark and won't play the videos.
You wanted to know which IE i'm using, i'm using the latest one. but I hardly use it for a browser I usually use Firefox. this is really bugging me. I think that its a combination of having the wrong settings on Quicktime as well as wrong settings on my browser, but I don't remember changing any settings lately and usually when u reinstall a program it doesn't keep the last settings you previously had with that same program. So, please get back to me if you know how to fix it, thanks. |

what version of qt are you using? it sounds like an out of date version problem. if its not the lastest (version 7) then goto apple and download it. if it is, then check what other media apps/codecs you have installed. i have also found that if you install lots of other media type apps (like realplayer) and codecs (like the k-lite pack), qt stops working correctly.

My qt is updated. its 7.1. if i try updating it it will tell me its already updated. i have vcl media player and a couple others that i don't use that i just got rid of. i have dvx, real player and windows media.. I don't have k-lite pack.
maybe it has something to do with the divx codecs and stuff since i did a search and there seems to be alot of them on my computer that i don't even realize wether i'm using or not.. anyways, sounds like this is a problem that maybe only quicktime can solve for me since they mad the damn thing. do u know how i can get into their forums or get support from them? i don't see the link on their page. maybe help is only available to pro users. |
