here are some more details. This continually happens i hav to keep rebooting because of this. I had to reboot approximately 10+ times. it always freezes no matter what i do. also there is no virus or spyware/adaware in the computer cuz i scanned with norton. any ideas on what to do? by the way i never tried going to safe mode. I'll try tomorrow and if it still remains the same i'll need some help from u guys. if i am not clear plz tell me and i'll clarify.

It could be a RAM issue

I just built a new PC, Nothing over the top so heat wasn't a facter but I had the same problem as you.
I couldn't install windows because it came up with files missing and when it worked it would freeze on me. I couldn't load a bootable program to check the hardware because halfway through it would freeze

I try different RAM in it and it works like a dream

The RAM I put in was only a day old so new doesn't mean it will work

Hope this help

Hi,

I would almost bet (I don't bet, BTW) that this is your main problem. I don't think even a great brand name power supply (which Master is not) could pull this unit.

However, just to carry this further, download the Sensor View program under my signature and post your temperatures, voltages, and fan speeds. Test the temps both as soon as you sign on and then after you have put the computer under stress for a few minutes.

Also, what video card are you using???

Post back with questions/concerns.

Hi,

While 500 watts will be a whole lot better than you had, I think that you needed a bit more like a 600 watt power supply. My preferences in brand name power supplies are enermax, seasonic, Antec, OCZ, Silverstone. I tend to stay away from the lesser named ones that don't seem to be up to par with the brand names. X-Infinity power supplies are more of the unknown and not time tested, so it is difficult to say what the quality really is. Also, how many watts do you have on the +12 rail on this one? What video card are you planning to use? This information might help to evaluate what you have already purhased.

actually the problem was the RAM. which I discovered when getting a new motherboard but using the same processor. So far its been working fine with the ultra x-finity.
