Hi, i know quite alot about computers but probarbly not much comapred to some of you guys.
anyways i recently brought a USB 2.0 card from Novatech. It has four external ports an one internal. I asumed that installing this card would upgrade my USB 1.1 to USB 2.0. I installed the driver and it said it installed corectly however evertime I plug my ipod or external hard drive into the port a message comes up saying a high speed device is plugged into a nonm-high speed port! Im not sure what to do. My computer spec is: Motherboard: Dell (not sure what model) Ram: 384 MB Hard Drives: Maxtor 160GB and an old 40GB CPU: 1.69GHZ pentium four |

It won't "upgrade" your computer to USB 2.0, but add USB 2.0 ports to wour computer. Anything plugged into the new card should run at USB 2.0 speed, anything plugged into the old ports will run at USB 1.1 speed. Are you plugging them into the new card?

This is normally seen when the mainboard itself will not dierectly support USB 2.0
Your system spec looks new enough to support USB 2.0. Do you have service pack 2 installed as this has some USB patches. PS Start\conrol panel\ system General tab may give you the Dell model number.
