New monitor - Need help

I just got a Samsung Syncmaster 740bf, a lcd monitor (Response time: 2ms)

I connected the cable to both digital ports (of monitor and pc), and everything works fine except:

1) I cant choose the right mix of Contrast & brightness...I followed a tutorial on the monitor's cd, but the suggested settings were awful.

2) I experience some "out of focus" effect when playing games.
It happens when I scroll the screen of RTS games and when I look around quickly in FPS games.

Any help? Thanks.

I don't have this monitor, but can you follow the directions from the manual and change the contrast/brightness options again? Try changing the settings slightly on either contrast or brightness, then see if that helps or makes it worse (kinda like an eye appointment!), then keep doing that until it looks good to you.

THanks, I solved that, now here's the real issue with the monitor:

It works fine, except for 1 awful thing:

Whenever I move any game visuals (IE: I scroll the screen in a RTS or I look around in a FPS) , the vision blurs heavily.
When I stop scrolling, the game's vision returns in focus.

I noticed that this is happening in almost every game, and even on wepages when I scroll them...

Why this happens?

Usually, that is the sign of ghosting, which is when the monitor can not refresh fast enough. I think I saw above that you listed your monitor to be a 2ms response time though? Anything 8ms and below should not easily ghost like that. You may want to contact Samsung about this. Are you plugged in through the DVI connection or the VGA (D-SUB) connection? I recomend if you have the capability, to use the DVI connection.

I use DVI connection.

Samsung fooled me, this is the simpliest answer....Im going to bring back this piece of korean crap right to the seller and get a replacement.

They say 2ms...but it is much more...Ive seen 8ms performing much better...
