24 addict with very annoying media player habit
24 addict needs help..... *sob*
Running off of a Sony Vaio - spec given below. Wasn't sure where to post the question so have put it on laptops, video cards and in Other... sorry for the duplication but it is driving me mad When I download avi's on BitComet and I play them, they play fine for a while, then my CPU racks right up to 100% on DivX. The sound plays fine but the video jerks and is completely out of sync. If I pause the playback and wait, the computer seems to calm itself down and then plays fine for 3 mins and repeats. I have used the regedit thing sites suggest for avi's that take the CPU to 100% but to no avail. normally see lsass.exe and csrss.exe also runnning on the CPU when DivX goes mad......... Have run Hi-jack and got rid of a a couple of unusual lines and have had it check here and Glaswegian says it looks ok. Registry Mechanic has cleaned up the reg and I am now the proud owner of CCCP codecs and zoom player. The playback still freezes and the sound continues It at least recovers quicker than DivX player. Have Spybot and Spyware blaster on and fully updated. Computer spec : Processor Intel® Pentium® 4 processor 2.40 Ghz L2 cache memory 512 KB (on die) Motherboard Chipset Intel 845 MP Memory 512 MB (upgradeable to 1024 MB) Hard disk drive 40 GB Video Chipset ATI Mobility Radeon 7500C Video Memory 32 MB DDR Display 15" TFT XGA 1024x768 Sound Yamaha YMF753-S • 16-bit CD-quality stereo sound • Microsoft Sound System, Hardware MIDI Optical 24X CD-ROM 24X CD-R 10X CD-RW 8X DVD-ROM Any suggestions ??
