Hi,
You need to take another look at these. The CPU and motherboard don't match each other. One is the 478 pin and he other the sociket 775. --P5ND2-SLI ATX Socket 775 Motherboard - 179.99 --Pentium 4, 3.00Ghz, 800MHz FSB, Socket FC-PGA4 478-pin Processor with HT Technology - 249.99 When that is sorted out, then we can look at the other issues you may have in this list, but you have to take care of this first.

If you don't plan on getting into any serious gaming try a celeron D which is LGA775. It's also pretty good for overclocking if you need the extra power later on.

Hi,
Yes, it should fit the board you have chosen. However, if you want primarily gaming, you might want to consider the Athlon64 series of chip. Cheaper, faster in gaming, and easy to overclock. Just an opinion. Don't misunderstand, the Pentium D is a nice chip.

I would agree, go with AMD. Here is a good setup:

Hi,
TheMatt is on a roll. Matt, that is the exact same motherboard A8N-sli deluxe that I have and also the CPU San Diego 3700+...One great combination, I love my unit. I am not into gaming, but you can't beat either piece of hardware.

I agree with TheMatt on his recomendation.
A couple things, I've had a lot of bad experience with PNY memory. It may be cheaper than some of the other brands, but it's not nearly as reliable. Also, the x1300 video card is not a very powerful one. I agree with TheMatt that you should go with something more powerful. An x1600 or 7600 are pretty cheap, good cards, and if you wanted to spend more money, a 7900 or x1900 are top of the line. |

This ram would be a better choice a little more money upfront but after you get your rebates it actually cheaper. Truthfully it the same ram that was linked just the newer version of it. Main difference is it cas 2 instead of cas 3. lower cas is better. As for windows it possiable to get it to work without reinstalling but there a few steps to getting it too work. I think if you look around there a few threads explaining how too already here.
