annoying keyboard problem!!!!

i went to work and my girlfriend was using my computer doing some microsoft words. after i came home, she told me she broke my keyboard, and she doesnt know how she did it, but basically, on a normal computer and keyboard, when you are typing and u hold down a key, say for example "a", then u will get aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, but now, after my girlfriend did something on the keyboard or windows or whatever, if i hold down a key, all i get is one single press, so if i hold down "a", all i get is 1 single "a" and then thats it. this is probably something really simple but i dont know how the heck u fix it, can someone please teach me?? I am using windows XP and i have already tried restarting the computer which doesnt work. thanks!

try reinstalling drivers for the board. ask you girlfriend if anything called stickey keys popped up

You could also try going into the control panel and, in classic view, open up the 'keyboard' options. Make sure the Repeat delay is set to something you like. For example, I have mine set to maximum, though not everyone likes it this fast.

thanks guys, i just figured it out, my girlfriend held the shift key for 8 seconds and did some filterkey crap, so the way to fix it is to go to control panel and under accessibility, turn off filterkey or something. now everything is fine. thanks
