Beware of Junk PC parts seller: SABRENT

This is to alert potential buyers of PC parts from SABRENT company.

I bought a SABRENT SBT-SCIDE controller card that was supposed to connect ATA 133 devices to SATA ports. Sound great, but in tries on two different cards, the WinXP system never saw the SATA port connected or the HDD attached. I tried all combinations and permutaations possible without any effect on the result -- never seen by the system.

The term "Tech Support" for Sabrent is also a cruel joke. They kept asking questions, but NEVER gave any usable assistance. It took over one week just to find the "Tech Support" email response came from CA. Of course, they have no phone number of any type that one can contact. Even Mwave, where I bought the card, had no idea where Sabrent was located.

I wasted a lot of time, a lot of energy and some money on this effort. The purpose of this post is to alert others not to buy JUNK from Sabrent!

I hope this will save others the time, effort and money from purchasing their "products."

you bet

I ordered a video capture card for them a few months ago for my older computer. Not only did the software and equipment suck (didn't do what I wanted it too), but as you said the tech support might as well have been nonexistant. Newegg wouldn't RMA it so I sold it on ebay.
