Changing Keys On A Keyboard

Hi, i have a ASUS A6000 VM and i would like to swap the CTRL and the FN keys, so that when i press the ctrl button it actually responds as a ctrl button instead of the fn key.

Regards Damien

Currently, if you press the ctrl button, it acts as if you press the fn button? If this is the case, then all you have to do is pop each key off, and put them back on in the switched order. To pop them off, you'll need something to gently pry them up from one corner. Remember to be gentle so as to ease them out so they don't break.

If, however, when you press the ctrl button, it acts as if you actually do press the ctrl button, and you want to switch the location of those two buttons, you'd need keyboard drivers that support that. You could check to see if ASUS has any drivers that do that for you, but most likely not.

In that case, you'd have to see if ASUS offers any drivers that switch the the key configuration around like that. Most likely they won't, but some laptop companies do that knowing that people don't always like the location of the fn key.

Take a look here and see if any of these will work for you. This can be done, but may not be easy.
