Is RAID1 drive unique to 1 mobo?
I've had RAID1 running for years, but suddenly my mobo cycles through end-less boots similar to description in clintfan guide. The message is "STOP: 0xC000021A {Fatal System Error}
The session manager initialization system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xxxxxxxxx. The system has been shut down." Safe mode boot off CD tells me that no hard drives are attached, I can't repair. Primary Question: can the 2 SATA HDDs be attached to another mobo to recover the data on them? Secondary question: any suggestion on fixing the rig? Many thanks in advance!! _________________________ Abit IC7-MAX3 "Canterwood" (Socket 478) Motherboard Intel Pentium 4 "Prescott" 2.8GHz (800FSB) with HT 2 x Adata 512MB DDR PC3200 CAS 2.5 2 x Maxtor DiamondMax Plus9 Serial ATA 80GB 8MB Cache Antec TruePower 430W PSU YS-TECH FD8125 SILENT 80mm fan - 4 Pin Sony CRX300E 48x/24x/48x/16x CDRW/DVD Combi Drive Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition up to date with updates on top of SP2 Alps 3.5" Silver Floppy Drive Leadtek WInfast A350XT-TDH GeForce FX 5900XT 128MB DDR |

Are you just using your mb for raid 1 or do you have a controller card? You may just need to replace one of those two components. If you are using a controller card try hooking one hdd right up to the motherboard. As craig mentioned if you can't fix your rig you should be able to do a repair install on another system. Since the two drives are identical I would just try to get one drive to boot up on another system rather than trying to set the whole raid 1 up on another system. If all else fails hook one of those drives up to a current working system as a slave and recover your data, as long as nothing was encrypted.
