512mb or 256mb?
MY pc shud b running 1x 512mb ddr ram in 1 slot. After reading a post on here I checked my 1st loading screen (where u hit del 4 bios) and it says 256mb RAM!
Why is this? If you click properties on my computer it says 512mb and on the stick it says 512mb

sounds like a bios error. try clearing the CMOS by removing the little battery for about 5 minutes. also, dont even do that unless you find some problems. also download everest from my sig. that should tell you how much mem you have

Field Value
Motherboard Name MSI 845GEM / 845GLMS / 845GVM / 845GVM-V / MS-6526G(L) This was link I for motherboard I found yesterday think its this 1 http://www.motherboards.org/mobot/mo...ER%253A2%2529/ Thats off Everest, which says I have 512mb RAM so much just b bios error on startup as you say. It doesn't mention dual channel ram anywhere so hopefully the 1gb stick Ive ordered such run fine alongside the 512mb.
